Andrea Romo - Northwest Representative
Andrea Romo currently lives in Ozark, where she has been the handbell director at Ozark First United Methodist Church for the past sixteen years. Her time as director has been working with amazing people, some of whom do not read music. Proper marking solves that problem, and new ringers discover the joy of making beautiful music with their friends. The Ozark Ringers enjoy goin to festivals, clinics, and concerts - any place they can ring with others and learn new tricks. They have also begun offering concerts to the community twice a year. Other ringing opportunities include ringing with the Northwest Arkansas community bell choir, Ozark Bronze, ringing with the bell choir from the University of the Ozark in Clarksville, and both the Springdale and Clarksville First United Methodist Church bell choirs.
Andrea's primary musical instrument is the piano. She serves as a substitute pianist and organist for her church. In addition to piano, she plays clarinet, oboe, and alto saxophone including being the clarinet section of the River Valley Community Band. Most recently she has been producing piano concerts entitle "Celebrating the Steinway" where local and regional pianists are brought to Ozark School District's Performing Arts Center to play the Steinway piano that is housed at the PAC. The concerts have been well attended and appreciated by those who have discovered the beauty of this fine instrument. |
