Laura Vaughn - Member at Large
Laura Vaughn grew up in West Lafayette, Indiana but has lived in Arkansas ever since enrolling at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. She had a blast playing alto sax in the Jazz Band, but the major focus for her Music Education degree was in voice and piano.
From 1985-2022, Laura served on staff at various times as music/choir director, handbell director, pianist, interim organist, and children's choir director at Cabot United Methodist Church. Laura recently moved to Northwest Arkansas and currently sings in the choir, serves as one of several rotating accompanists, and also serves as occasional substitute choir director for Christ Church of Northwest Arkansas. In addition to her church music ministry, Laura is a piano teacher in the Farmington area.
Laura retired from teaching elementary school music in the Cabot Public Schools in 2014. Her husband, Jerry, is a retired elementary principal and has since worked as an educational consultant. They have two grown daughters and are proud grandparents of two precious grandchildren, Genesis and Shepherd, who live near Atlanta (which is much too far away!).
